Climate-Smart Farming & Marketing Program

Federal Funding Freeze Update
There is a standstill of funding for the Climate-Smart Farming and Marketing Program, a program designed to help make farms and farmers more resilient in the face of climate change. Because of this, farmers enrolled in this program may not get the support and funding needed.
Engaging in Community Science & Practice
from Maine to South Carolina
NOFA/Mass is thrilled to be part of a five year regional partnership with Pasa Sustainable Agriculture and others in 6 major watersheds across 15 states to support farmers’ adoption and implementation of climate-smart practices.

The Climate-Smart Farming & Marketing program offers financial and technical support for farmers who want to implement climate-smart practices such as agroforestry, cover cropping, prescribed grazing, and reduced tillage. Farmer participants will help measure the environmental benefits of these practices, and we’ll help them educate customers to grow informed consumer demand.
Farmers from Maine to South Carolina, including Tribal lands in the same region, are invited to participate.

NOFA/Mass is involved in innovative and exciting projects that focus on better climate choices for growers.
Over the next three weeks we are excited to share more insights on the programs and workshops that NOFA/Mass and partners are doing to help expand climate solutions throughout Massachusetts, and the impacts they will have on farmers, communities, and consumers.
With our work centered around healthy soils and food access, nearly everything we do is through a lens of climate action.
We appreciate your support which will enable us to have an even greater impact on farmers, communities, and the environment throughout Massachusetts!
